A good laugh to kick things off - #26

Once we finally started filming the project, we were able to get the ball rolling. However, that didn't mean that everything would come along as quickly or as easily as we thought. We realized that we would need several days to film due to the little time we had for each part.

At first, I was only able to film the second half of the opening since I was only able to get Victor and Kyle to shoot. What I would soon find out was how silly things would get. The first part that we filmed was when Miguel discovered Tim on the floor battered and bruised. Since Kyle needed to lay in the dirt for this part he was finding it difficult to act seriously.

We would end up getting the shot that we needed, but it wasn't without laughter or some cringe. In the part where Miguel discovers Tim lying in pain on the floor, Tim is to make groaning or agonizing noises to show that he did get somewhat hurt. We shot several times to make sure that it sounded right, but we ended up not getting the shot without bursting out laughing. I must admit, it was very funny to watch and film.

Settings to Consider - #4

When creating a film, it is always important to identify the setting, or multiple settings. This is because it will help to match the event to when and where it is taking place. Since my film will be about a teenager who learns how to box, there should definitely be a boxing gym used at some point in the film. The location should also be clean and organized as well.     It should also include an exterior setting, which may showcase how the characters interact with each other more openly, and at certain times of the day. A great exterior setting to use would be around the neighborhood, because it is an easy place to go out and film at and there is a lot of space for different types of camera shots. There may be some parts of the film that need to be filmed at night, or during the day, and this can be greatly demonstrated using the natural lighting of the sun.   The location of the final battle should be noted as it may be included in the opening. This is because I believe that tying

Genre History - #2

Since my project will be a sports drama, I needed to do some research on the genre's history to gain more info. To start off, the Sports genre began with Charlie Chaplin's 'The Champion' (1915), which is a boxing silent film. The drama genre has more confusing beginnings however, since it was said to have originated in Greece as an evolution of religious ritual. Around the same time however, the Sanskrit Indian Prakarana arose, which is a play that consisted of five acts. This may have been regarded to spreading the genre of drama in the east, the same way Greece did in the west.  As I've said before, 'The Champion' was the very first sports film. However, this was only a silent film which came around during the silent film era. Meaning that there was no real dialogue or important sounds which could influence the meaning of the film. A much more popular sports film that came later was Rocky (1976) starring Sylvester Stallone. Rocky has also remained a cultu
